Greenland, Warming Island, 2006
| Greenland, Warming Island, 2006 - This photograph has become one of the symbols of Global Warming. The glacier in the foreground has broken away from Warming Island, creating one of the newest straits in the world. Thanks to Dennis Schmitt, the discoverer, of Berkeley, California for inviting me on this incredible 5-person expedition to survey this new island, which was discovered in 2005. This photograph appeared in the New York Times on Jan 16, 2007 with an article by John Collins Rudolph, one of our expedition members. The other expedition members were Eric Ristau, filmmaker, and John Rudolph, Sr., businessman and benefactor. |
